Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Short Service Commission (SSC) Medical Officer in AFMS to fill 450 vacancies. Both eligible male and female Indian Citizens can apply for SSC Medical Officer post online from 16th July 2024 to 4th August 2024.

Educational Qualifications
1. Candidate must hold a medical qualification included in the National Medical Commission Act 2019. Candidates with Postgraduate degrees recognized by State Medical Council, MCI, NBE, or NMC are also eligible to apply.
2. The candidate must have permanent registration with any State Medical Council, MCI, or NMC.
3. Candidate must have completed their internship on or before 15th August 2024.
Age Limit (As on 31.12.2024)
- Candidates must not have reached the age of 30 years if holding an MBBS degree.
- Candidates must not have reached the age of 35 years if he/she possesses a Postgraduate Degree.

Scale of Pay/ Salary
Medical Doctors commissioned in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AMS) will be granted the rank of Captain (or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force) at Level 10B of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 61,300 plus MSP ₹ 15,500) + HRA based on city category (X, Y, Z) plus NPA at current rates plus Transport Allowance ₹ 3,600-7,200 (based on city category) plus Dress Allowance ₹ 20,000 annually, and Dearness Allowance as per current rates.
Selection Process
The selection process includes shortlisting candidates based on their marks in NEET PG Entrance Examination. Eligible candidates will be called for an interview conducted by a Board of Officers in August/ September 2024 at the Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt.
After passing the interview, each candidate must undergo a Special Medical Examination Board (SMB) conducted by DGAFMS to assess their medical fitness according to established standards. All candidates who score at least 50% in the interview will proceed to a medical examination immediately following the interview.
Application Fee
Candidates will be required to pay application fee of amount of ₹200/- which is payable online only. The required payment should be made after the submission of application through online payment methods (internet banking, credit card, or debit card).
How to Apply for AFMS Medical Officer
Eligible Candidates should register & apply online through AMC SSC Entry Portal (amcsscentry.gov.in) under link “NEW REGISTRATION” from 16th July 2024. Candidates have to fill all required basic details and upload the relevant documents. The last date for online application submission is 4th August 2024.
