East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur has released a notification at its official website for recruitment under Sports Quota for the year 2023-24. Eligible and outstanding sportspersons can submit applications for 56 vacancies to be filled in HQ/ECR, Hajipur and Five Divisions i.e. Dhanbad, Danapur. DDU, Sonepur and Samastipur. Last Date to submit applications is 26.02.2024.

Scale of Pay: Pay Level 1 with Basic Pay Rs.18000; Pay Level 2/3 with Basic Pay Rs. 19900/21700; Pay Level 4/5 with Basic Pay Rs. 25500/29200
Education Qualification:
(i) Pay Level 4/5 – Candidate must have Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized University.
(ii) Pay Level 2/3 – Candidate should be 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination passed OR Candidate must have passed 10th along with Course Completed Act Apprenticeship OR ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT
OR Candidate who have passed 10″ from a recognized Board may also be eligible to be posted as Tech-III. However, the training period for appointees will be 03 years unless they pass /possess ITI in the relevant trade in which case it will be 06 months.

Age Limit (As on 1st July 2024): Candidate should be of minimum 18 years old and maximum age limit is 25 years. (The age will be considered as on 1st July 2024). No relaxation will be provided in upper or lower age limit.
Examination Fees:
Examination Fees of Rs. 250 (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only) has to be paid SC/ST, Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes (Examination fee 250/- is refundable to candidates after actually appearing in the trial)
Examination Fee for all other categories is Rs. 500/- (Out of which 400/- is refundable to candidates after actually appearing in the trial). Fee will be paid through Indian Postal Order (IPO) pledged in favour of ‘PFA, East Central Railway’ and payable at Hajipur.
Method of Recruitment: Selection for the posts will be done based on performance in Trial, Assessment of Sports achievements, evaluation of Educational Achievements etc. as per rule/instruction of Railway administration. Candidates who will be declared FIT in the Trial will be called for the next stage of selection process. Trial will be held to evaluate sports performance/ suitability of the candidates for the team of E.C. Railway.
Details of Examination Schedule and venues will be provided at RRB websites. Syllabus of exams can be found in the official notification. Selected candidates for the post have to undergo training wherever prescribed and only stipend will be paid during the training period.
How to Apply for Posts:
Applications must be submitted clearly and accurately, either typed or handwritten (in English or Hindi) on A4-sized paper. Candidates must fill out the form himself and add a passport-sized photograph on form.
Application form along with enclosed self-certified copies of documents verifying age, caste, education, sports achievements, and any other relevant qualifications should be sent to the respective division (Address of which can be found in the notification). Applicants should indicate “Application against Sports Quota”, Employment Notice No. ECR/HRD/Rectt/Sports Quota (Open Advt.)/2023-24 & Sports Discipline on the top of the envelope. Please include an Indian Postal Order for the required amount with your application.
