Scale of Pay

a) Navik (General Duty): Candidate will be paid salary as per Pay Level-03 (Basic pay Rs. 21700/-) along with additional allowances (Dearness Allowance and other allowances).

b) Yantrik: Candidate will be paid salary as per Pay Level-05 (Basic pay Rs. 29200/-) along with additional allowances (Dearness Allowance and other allowances).

Educational Qualifications

a) Navik (General Duty): Candidate must have passed +2 level examination (with Maths and Physics subjects) recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).

b) Yantrik: (i) Candidate must have passed 10th examination recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE). (ii) Candidate must possess a Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/ Power) Engineering

Age Limit

Minimum age limit for both posts is 18 years and maximum age limit is 22 years. Candidates must have been born between March 1, 2003, and February 28, 2007 (both dates inclusive). Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) (non-creamy layer) categories, may be eligible for an age relaxation (05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC (non-creamy) candidates).

Selection Process

Selection for Navik (General Duty) & Yantrik posts will be made by Coast Guard Enrolled Personnel Test (CGEPT) which will consist of followings stages:

(i) Stage- I (Computer Based Examination): There will first be a Document verification where candidates will bring all required documents for verification (Check official notification for details). Candidates who will clear documents verification will move on to the biometric recording step. After clearing biometric, a Computer Based Examination will be conducted.

(ii) Stage II: Only shortlisted candidates based on performance in the Computer Based Examination will be called for Stage-II. Stage-II will consist of Assessment/ Adaptability Test, Physical Fitness Test, Document Verification and Recruitment Medical Examination.

(iii) Stage III: Following successful completion of Stages I and II, candidates will be ranked based on their performance. Only those who achieve a rank within the merit list will be shortlisted for training at INS Chilka and will be issued with provisional E-admit card.

(iv) Stage IV: During Stage-III, trainees at INS Chilka must submit all their original documents for verification. The Indian Coast Guard will then do the verification of these documents through Boards/Universities/State governments.

Examination Fee

Examination fee of Rs. 300 will required to be paid by applicants (No fee charges for Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates). Examination Fees can be pay online either by using net banking or by using Visa/Master/Maestro/Rupay Credit/Debit Card or UPI.  Only those candidates will be issued E-admit card who will successfully pay the examination fee and who are entitled for waiver of examination fee.

Candidates have to upload documents in two phases. First specific set of documents must be uploaded during the initial online application stage, while few are required to be uploaded if shortlisted for Stage-II.
