The closing date for online submission of applications is 4th March 2024. The selection will be for a regular position, with an initial probationary period lasting two years for Assistant Professors and one year for Professors/Associate Professors in accordance with CCS rules, as sanctioned by the institute’s Board of Governors.

Educational Qualifications:
Professor: Candidate must have (i) a Ph.D. qualification in the relevant field and a First class or equivalent at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels in the relevant discipline.
(ii) Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in teaching/ research, or industry, with a minimum of 3 years at a position comparable to that of an Associate Professor.
(iii) Furthermore, they should have at least 6 research publications at the Associate Professor level in SCI journals/ UGC, or AICTE-approved journals, along with a minimum of 2 successful Ph.D. supervisions as a Supervisor or Co-supervisor up to the eligibility date for promotion. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with a minimum of 10 research publications at the Associate Professor level in SCI journals, UGC, or AICTE-approved journals by the eligibility date for promotion.
Associate Professor: (i) A Ph.D. qualification in the applicable field and First class or an equivalent at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels in the relevant discipline.
(ii) Additionally, candidates must possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching/ research, or industry, with at least 2 years of post Ph.D. experience.
(iii) Furthermore, they should have a total of at least 6 research publications in SCI journals, UGC, or AICTE-approved journals.
Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in relevant discipline with first class in both Master’s Degree and Bachelor Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.) & Technology
Application Fees: (i) Applicants (UR/OBC/PwBD) have to pay registration fee of Rs.1050/- (which is 550/- for SC/EWS category candidates) during submission of online application.
Selection Method: The received applications will undergo screening in accordance with the screening guidelines provided in the notification. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
Candidates first have to apply online in prescribe format at Institute website www.pec.ac.in on or before 4th March 2024. After online submission, the print of online application, along with self-attested photocopies of all the documents listed in the checklist (see notification below), must be sent to the office of the Dean Faculty Affairs at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Sector 12, Chandigarh-160012 via speed post within ten days, i.e., by March 14, 2024, from the final date of online application submission.
