Age Limit (as on 28th February 2024)
Upper age limit for Engineer Trainee (ET) post is 30 years as on 28th February 2024.
Age relaxation in upper age limit is applicable for reserved categories as per existing norms (Please refer to the official notification link at the end of this page for more information.).
Educational Qualifications
a) Engineer Trainee (ET) – Civil: Candidate must possess a Full-time Engineering degree (B.E/B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.)) in Civil Engineering discipline from a recognized university or institute in India, with a minimum of 60% marks.
b) Engineer Trainee (ET) – Electrical: Candidate must possess a Full-time Engineering degree (B.E/B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.)) in Electrical/ Electrical (Power)/ Electrical & Electronics/ Power Systems & High Voltage/ Power Engineering discipline from a recognized university or institute in India, with a minimum of 60% marks.
c) Engineer Trainee (ET) – Mechanical: Candidate must possess a Full-time Engineering degree (B.E/B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.)) in Mechanical/ Mechanical & Automation Engineering discipline from a recognized university or institute in India, with a minimum of 60% marks.
d) Engineer Trainee (ET) – Electronics & Instrumentation: Candidate must possess a Full-time Engineering degree (B.E/B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.)) in Electronics & Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control/ Electronics Instrumentation & Control disciplines from a recognized university or institute in India, with a minimum of 60% marks.
Scale of Pay
During the training period as an Engineer Trainee in E-2 Grade, candidate will receive minimum basic pay of Rs. 50,000 in the pay scale of Rs. 50,000 -3%-1,60,000 (IDA). Upon successful completion of training, individuals will be absorbed as Assistant Manager in E-3 Grade with pay scale of Rs. 60,000-3%-1,80,000 (IDA).

Selection Process
Applicants meeting the criteria must have participated in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) – 2023. Selection for Engineer Trainee (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics & Instrumentation) post will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the corresponding paper of GATE 2023, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Application Fee
Candidates falling under the General/ OBC/ EWS category are required to pay application fee of Rs. 600/- (Rupees Six Hundred Only). There is no fee applicable for Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ PwBDs/ Ex-Servicemen/ J&K Domiciled/ Departmental candidates or Candidates belonging to Doob Kshetra of THDC Projects. Fees will be pay online through SBI Collect during submitting online application.

Before filling Online registration form, candidate must have a valid and active Email ID and Mobile Number, a scanned copy of the candidate’s recent passport-size color photograph, a scanned copy of the candidate’s signature, and scanned copies of their Marksheet/Certificates.
