Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department (TNMAWS) has released a notification to fill 2104 vacancies of Assistant Engineer, Town Planning Officer, Junior Engineer, Technical Assistant etc. in the offices under the Directorate of Municipal Administration, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board and Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. The online application registration is available from February 9, 2024, and will continue till March 12, 2024.

Education Qualification
a. Assistant Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E. or B.Tech) in relevant discipline or possess an equivalent qualification.
b. Town Planning Officer Grade II / Assistant Engineer (Planning): A degree in Planning/ Civil Engineering/ Architecture, or a qualification deemed equivalent by a Recognized University or Institution. However, preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s Degree in Planning.
c. TWAD Board Junior Engineer: The licentiate in Civil Engineering/ Sanitary Engineering Diploma, or D.C.E. granted by the State Board of Technical Examination and Training, Madras, or any diploma acknowledged by the Government of Tamil Nadu as equivalent is required for appointment under the government.
d. Technical Assistant/Draughtsman/ Overseer: Diploma in Civil/ Mechanical Engineering awarded by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, or an equivalent qualification.
e. Town Planning Inspector/ Junior Engineer (Planning): A Diploma in Civil Engineering/ a Degree in Planning/ a Diploma in Architecture from any institution. Priority will be given to candidates with a Post Graduate Diploma in Town Planning.

f. Work Inspector: Diploma in Civil Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an institute recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
g. Sanitary Inspector: Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology allied with Chemistry/ Chemistry allied with Zoology, OR a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health/ Environmental Science, Microbiology, or Biochemistry; and must have successfully completed the Sanitary Inspector course from an institution endorsed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Age Limit (as 01.02.2024): Upper age limit is 32 years for General/ Unreserved categories while there is no upper age limit for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes, Most Backward Classes / Denotified Communities, Backward Classes (OBCMs), Backward Classes (Muslims) and Destitute Widows of all categories.

- Assistant Engineer: Rs. 37,700 – 1,38,500/- (Pay Matrix Level 20)
- Town Planning Officer: Rs. 35,900 – 1,31,500/- (Pay Matrix Level 13)
- Junior Engineer: Rs. 35,900 – 1,31,500/- (Pay Matrix Level 13)
- Technical Assistant: Rs. 35,400 – 1,30,400/- (Pay Matrix Level 11)
- Draftsman (Municipality): Rs. 35,400 – 1,30,400/- (Pay Matrix Level 11)
- Overseer (Municipality/TP) : 35,400 – 1,30,400/- (Pay Matrix Level 11)
- Town Planning Inspector/ Jr Engineer (Planning): 35,400 – 1,30,400/- (Pay Matrix Level 11)

Method of Recruitment: A Written Examination (Objective type) will be conducted for the selection of posts. Written examination will be held on 29.06.2024 and 30.06.2024. Please check official notification for post wise details of examination/syllabus.
