The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued recruitment notification at upsc.gov.in for Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination, 2024 to fill various 150 posts. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be held on 26th May 2024. Candidates can apply for IFS examination online till 5th March 2024.

Age Limit: Minimum age limit is 21 years and below 32 years as on 1st August 2024. Upper age limit is relaxable up to 05 years for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe, 03 years for Other Backward Classes (OBC) and for others upper age limit is relaxable as per Govt rules.
Education Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least one of the subjects: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.
Physical Standards: Applicants need to meet the specified physical fitness standards as per the rules published in the Gazette of India on February 14, 2024, to be eligible for admission in Indian Forest Service Exam.

Selection Process: There will be two types of examinations in Indian Forest Service Examination: – i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination of Objective type (multiple choice questions); and (ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (which will consist of Written Test and Interview) for the final selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service.
Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2024 will be held on 26th May 2024 at various centres across the country for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination. The Main Examination will be held in November 2024 at Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Port Blair and Shimla.
Examination Fee: Candidates have to pay Examination Fee of Rs. 100/- for applying for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination. Fee can be pay through cash in any Branch of State Bank of India (SBI)h, or by Net banking/ Credit/Debit card. No fee charges for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD & all Female candidates.
