Educational Qualifications
a) Sub-Inspector: Candidates must possess a Graduate degree in any field from a recognized university or its equivalent. The applicant must be able in reading, writing, and speaking Bengali.
b) Constable: Candidate should have passed Madhyamik Pariksha/ Madhyamik from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent qualification. The applicant must be able in reading, writing, and speaking Bengali.
Age Limit (as on 01.01.2024)
a) Sub-Inspector: Applicants must be at least 20 years old, and the upper age limit is 30 years as on 1st January 2024.
b) Constable: Applicants must be at least 18 years old, and the upper age limit is 30 years as on 1st January 2024. There is relaxation is upper age as follows:
- Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes: 05 years
- Other Backward Classes-A and Other Backward Classes-B: 03 years
- Third Gender/Transgender persons: 03 years
- Civic Volunteers: 05 years

Selection Process
West Bengal Police Recruitment Board will conduct Preliminary Written Test (MCQ based), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Examination and Personality Test/ Interview for selection of eligible candidates.
Candidates qualifying in Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be appear in the Final Written Examination (Objective Type Questions). As per the merit in Final Examination, selected candidates will be called for Interview/ Personality test.
